Hazel May Haynes, 94, Olathe, KS, formerly of Spring Hill, KS passed away July 5, 2019 at Good Samaritan in Olathe, KS. Visitation will be held 10:00 am Wed., July 10, 2019 and the Service follows at 11:00 am all at Bruce Funeral Home, 712 S. Webster, Spring Hill, KS (913) 592-2244. Hazel was born Nov. 14, 1924 in Spring Hill, KS to Emory and Ina Sumner. She attended twelve years of school there and graduated in 1943. Hazel met her husband, Robert (Andy) Haynes, on the dance floor in Paola, KS in 1944 and they were married April 21, 1945. Her hobbies were making baby quilts, counted cross stitching, cooking and dancing. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; brother, Bud Sumner and sister, Delores Duffield. Hazel is survived by her children: Andy and wife Barbara Haynes, Andra and husband Martin Quick; six grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
