			<description><![CDATA[Carl was the true gentleman, never saying an unkind word, always supportive of righteous causes, lover of freedom and adventure, whether it be boating down the “Mighty Mo” to its junction with the Mississippi River with Church Youth Groups, fishing on Hillsdale or other neighboring ponds and lakes or winter beaver trapping along the Kansas.  He was the true outdoorsman, with a love for hunting, locally, as well as in Colorado and fishing – his largest was a 65-lb. catfish from Miola Lake in Paola.  He was always willing to jump into action with his turkey fryer, cooking up messes of fish or wild fowl in front or backyard celebrations with family and friends.  His mechanical skills enabled him to handle pretty much any tough, supposedly unsolvable problem with ingenuity and humility.  He would literally give the shirt off his back if someone showed a need.  He would always halt his work to help someone else in need.  One could not imagine a better friend than Carlyle Whitcomb.]]></description>			<category>Condolences</category>
